The Challenges
While blockchain technology is gaining global traction, its adoption in Nepal remains limited due to a lack of awareness, unclear policies, and minimal local implementation. There was a pressing need to explore how blockchain could be effectively utilized across Nepal's public and private sectors, particularly in development and humanitarian contexts. The challenge was to identify relevant use cases, assess existing initiatives, and recommend a structured approach for mainstreaming blockchain. Additionally, it was essential to align these insights with Nepal's development goals and propose a practical policy framework for adoption and regulation.
The Solutions
- Identify potential applications of blockchain in Nepal in private as well as public sectors.
- Investigate current blockchain applications in use or being developed in Nepal and their value addition along with opportunities and challenges.
- Identify application and effectiveness of blockchain technology in humanitarian and development sector.

- Develop a good blockchain adoption practice guide to explore the potential and limitations of using blockchain.
