Rumsan partnered with Record Nepal, an independent digital publication, to redesign and upgrade their platform for improved performance and scalability. We implemented a complete CMS to manage text, images, and videos, and enabled seamless article submission and editorial workflows. Over 10,000 articles were successfully migrated from MySQL to a new NoSQL database using automated tools, ensuring content integrity. The project included site speed optimization, a public portal for journalists, news scraping bots, a COVID-19 map, a news chatbot, and subscription payment integration—transforming Record Nepal into a modern, responsive, and data-driven news platform.

The Challenges
Record Nepal faced challenges with updating their website's design for faster loading speeds while managing a large volume of content. The existing website required a redesign to improve user experience and ensure faster load times. Additionally, they needed to migrate over 10,000 articles to a new database structure, ensuring efficient content management and scalability. These challenges required an optimized design overhaul and a seamless migration process to maintain data integrity while supporting future growth.
The Solutions
Rumsan developed and deployed a comprehensive Content Management System (CMS) for managing text, image, and video content, enabling easy uploads and updates. An online news scraping bot was created to extract the latest headlines from seven popular news websites, enhancing real-time news coverage. The solution also included an online public portal for reporters, complete with management tools. Rumsan created a Nepal COVID-19 infected map using data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP) and designed a news chatbot for automated responses. Additionally, payment integration for subscriptions was implemented, and data migration of approximately 10,000 posts from MySQL to NoSQL databases was successfully completed.
